Violin Lesson FAQ
What age can my child start violin?
We accept violin students as young as 4 years old. Young beginners use fractional-sized violins (1/16, 1/8, 1/4) appropriate for their age and size. Our teachers make lessons fun, engaging, and age-appropriate.
Do I need to buy a violin or can we rent one?
Having a violin at home for practice is essential. You can rent or buy — we recommend renting for young students who will outgrow sizes quickly. We can help you find the right size and recommend trusted local rental programs.
How much do violin lessons cost?
Violin lessons are $40 per week (30-minute private sessions), billed monthly at $160–$200 depending on weeks in the month. There's a one-time $60 enrollment fee. We also offer an Academy 30 package at $997 for 30 lessons (a savings of over $200).
How quickly will my child see progress?
Most students can play their first simple melody within 4–6 weeks of consistent practice. After every lesson, your teacher sends a detailed note summarizing what was covered. Every 12 lessons, you'll receive a progress video showing your child's growth.
Do you only teach classical violin?
Not at all! While classical technique is the foundation, we also teach contemporary, fiddle, folk, film scores, and pop styles. Our teachers adapt the curriculum to your musical interests and goals.
Do you accept Step-Up Scholarships?
Yes! We are a Step-Up Scholarship direct provider. Your scholarship can cover the enrollment fee and weekly violin lessons — making music education completely free for qualifying families.
What if my child misses a lesson?
Cancel 24 hours in advance to reschedule at no charge. Last-minute? Take the lesson online via Zoom with pro cameras and sound. If the student can't attend at all, the teacher records a short video recap so they don't fall behind.
What makes your violin lessons different?
Every lesson uses immersive studio-quality sound with pro headphones and mixers. We track progress with detailed lesson notes and videos every 12 lessons. Students get real performance opportunities at recitals, concerts with 600+ audience members, and more.
