Ukulele Lesson FAQ
What age can my child start ukulele?
Ukulele is one of the best instruments for young beginners — we accept students as young as 4 years old. The small size fits little hands perfectly, and the soft nylon strings are gentle on fingers. Our teachers make every lesson fun and age-appropriate.
Do I need to buy a ukulele?
Having a ukulele at home for practice is strongly recommended. The great news is that quality beginner ukuleles start at just $30–$50, making it one of the most affordable instruments to own. We can help you choose the right size and type. We have instruments available during lessons.
How much do ukulele lessons cost?
Ukulele lessons are $40 per week (30-minute private sessions), billed monthly at $160–$200 depending on weeks in the month. There's a one-time $60 enrollment fee. We also offer an Academy 30 package at $997 for 30 lessons (a savings of over $200).
How quickly will my child see progress?
Ukulele is the fastest instrument to see results on! Most students can strum through their first complete song within 2–3 weeks. After every lesson, your teacher sends a detailed note summarizing what was covered. Every 12 lessons, you'll receive a progress video showing growth.
What's the difference between ukulele and guitar?
Ukulele has 4 nylon strings (vs. guitar's 6 steel strings), a smaller body, and simpler chord shapes — making it much easier for beginners. It's also lighter and more affordable. Many of our students start on ukulele and transition to guitar when they're ready.
Do you accept Step-Up Scholarships?
Yes! We are a Step-Up Scholarship direct provider. Your scholarship can cover the enrollment fee and weekly ukulele lessons — making music education completely free for qualifying families.
What if my child misses a lesson?
Cancel 24 hours in advance to reschedule at no charge. Last-minute? Take the lesson online via Zoom with pro cameras and sound. If the student can't attend at all, the teacher records a short video recap so they don't fall behind.
